Freedom = Independence.

"Some people dream of success, while others wake up and work hard at it."

You are no longer in high school. There's no teachers to tell you what to do. No more teachers to tell you which chapters to read to score in the exams, no teachers to guide you through in every single thing you do, no teachers to hover over you, making you study during prep time. No more teachers to get mad every time you skip classes, or every time you mess up the work given.

Face it. You're free now. Free as a bird.

Free to make your own decisions.
Free to choose your own path.
Free to do whatever you want.
Free to make mistakes and learn from them.
Free to live life the way you want.
Free to enjoy the time you have.
Free to do as you wish.

But are you really up to it? Are you really ready to face the real world?

If you're the type of person who waits for the teachers to tell you the topics that will be coming out in the exams, no, I'm afraid you are not ready to go out in the real world.

If you're the type of person who waits to be spoon-fed with the answers for every question, I'm sorry to say that the real life will be hell for you.

If you're the type of person who do things just because other people are doing it, I hope you're ready mentally, 'cause you will not survive out there.

Did I scare you enough? Well, if I did, I'm sorry. Let's talk about lighter things, shall we?

Your so-called 'honeymoon' phase.

What to do after finishing your SPM? Yes, you may relax, enjoy your break, hang out with your friends, fall in love and yada yada yada. But don't forget that you still have to plan for your future. Ignore what the others might say, ignore if they comment that you're being too focused. It's your future, and you need to plan.

Start thinking on what course you're planning on doing.

Medicine? Accountancy? Law? Actuarial Science? Engineering? Education? Mass communication? Name it, there's hundreds of courses available out there for you to choose. So, depending on what type of person you are, choose the best course for yourself. Know your passion and your strength, your weaknesses and your values. You know yourself better, so don't just follow what other people are doing.

And, please don't take up a particular course just because your girlfriend or boyfriend is doing it. Seriously. It does not work that way. Trust me.

To those who might be thinking about courses already, here are some links for you to check out. These are our previous posts, during our 'post-SPM' time last year. Maybe it'd be of some help to all of you, insyaAllah :)
