Hehe

Ok apa yang pro-nya dekat sini kalau-kalau PTPTN dimansuhkan,

Yang pertama, mahasiswa-mahasiswa layak diberi Universiti Percuma, tak perlu bayar tuition fees, penginapan, makan-minum dan duit buku-pengajian apa semua tu. Kalau diberi ELAUN lagi molek!

Bukan macam Malaysia, menteri guna duit rakyat, dikatanya komisyen. Komisyen apa sampai seratus ribu? Hahaha. *Gelak tutup mulut. Duit petronas tu nak simpan sampai bila, esok akhirat tuhan tak tanya pun, "Petronas untung berapa?".

Ok cukup cerita pasal PRO-Mengapa PTPTN wajar dimansuhkan.

Jadi kalau PTPTN masih tak mahu dimansuhkan, cer ubah sistem PTPTN tu sendiri, jadi macam MARA. Kan itu lebih baik dan terbaik.

Kontranya Mengapa PTPTN wajar dimansuhkan ni aku dapat satu je point dia, yang lain engkau orang fikir sendiri.

Ahahaha! Semoga bermanafaat. Insyaallah.

STOP!...Relax...Think

Hello and assalamualaikum peeps! Yes, it is me again, Nazran, now with more gusto than ever. Why? Because I

STOP

RELAX

THINK!

Why did I say that? That is what all of you should do.

As you all know, most people are busy with applying scholarships, universities, interview, educamps, etc. I knew that because I was busy too. But in all that business, we forgot want is truly important to us. Had no clue? Well, is these statements familiar to you?

"Aku tak kisah apa-apa pon, asalkan dapat scholarship."
"Aku rasa aku lepaskan impian aku untuk buat medic la, interview tadi aku x perform."
"Aku tak nak buat course *******, orang kata tak leh gi jauh."
"Siapalah aku ni...tak layak untuk apa-apa scholarship."
"Aku give up ar, sume university cam tak nak terima orang cam aku."

Tertusuk di hati ka?

Good, then here is what I want you to do.

STOP!
Take a deep breath.
Lie down on the bed.
RELAX
Close your eyes
Deep breaths
THINK
Who am I?
What are my goals in life?
Is there doubts or challenges?
Why can't  I overcome the doubt or challenges?
Think of your current situation
Is this the right choice?
Still not sure?
STOP
Pray
Ask for enlightenment and guidance

Your head cleared up?
Good because that is what you need.
A clear mind to decide your future.

If you need an extra pick-me-up, I suggest reading these books
Rich Dad, Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki
Dare to Fail by Billi Lim
The Magic of Thinking Big by David Schwartz

and also the famous movie: Three Idiots
Which gives the message that, education is not knowledge unless it is used properly

Good day

Interviews : The Don'ts and Dos

Guys, guys. meh sini meh. aku nak blog pasal... interview! let's talk about the do's and don'ts ok?

ok la Syaza dah post tips untuk interview kan? dah baca lom? dah? ok kalau dah, teruskan baca tips version aku punya pulak. lebih kurang je, takde yang lain pun... kecuali penulisnya. har har k.

i will just cover the basic ones that you probably know already, well since i'm captain obvious. but just in case some of us do not share the same common sense or haven't done any research, this might be a new "woaaa, rly ar?" to you.

1. Getcha Ingrish Rite

even if you know all the topics in the world but you can't deliver them confidently or properly, be prepared to be rejected. work on your english first before anything else, especially verbal communication. if you find no problem writing scholarship essays, answering the interviewer's questions, conversing with group mates and presenting your points, this is the perfect time to thank the teachers who tortured you with presentations, impromptu speeches and all those useful craps and also your friends who gossiped with you in english. because really, that helps in the case of yours truly.

2. Getcha Things Sorted

dari sekolah rendah aku simpan semua sijil dalam clear holder file. semangat tak? i give myself credit for that since i knew i must be active in co-curriculum activities so i could get myself into boarding schools after UPSR. i did get in one, i got out later, but the obsession with certificates never ends because i still want to study overseas or at least, in decent local universities. bila orang lain punya sijil beterbangan ditiup angin atau jadi alas makan nasi lemak supaya meja tak berminyak, sijil koko and akademik aku tersusun rapi :')

see, everything pink le. so Legally Blond le. nampak tak file pink striking kat tengah tu? penuh dengan sijil sekolah rendah sampai sekolah menengah, dengan copy sekali. tak senonoh nak bawak file camni. so aku beli file yang comel je pink dia kat sebelah tu ngan file plastik pink lagi satu untuk susun. camne susun?

camni -

file pink striking yang gemuk telah jadi tembam sahaja since the certificates have been transferred to the soft pink file. except for sijil sekolah rendahlah, apa cite nak bawak gi interview. tp mungkin boleh bermain dgn psikologi interviewer ; "kesian budak ni, sampai bawak sijil darjah 4, kasi jela dia".

file yang aku bawa gi interview ialah soft pink file. the original copies are divided into sections ; examination results (aku letak semua result exam dari form 3, ye maksudnya ujian pertama form 3 sampai result SPM), academic certificates (korang letakla sijil dapat semua A ke, anugerah pelajar pape ke, tempat pertama ke, semua yang ada), co-curricular certificates (dari form 1 jugak, yela apa fungsinya aku semangat masuk macam-macam siap simpan sijil dengan penuh kasih sayang kalau setakat nak buat kenangan je kan?), documents (sijil berhenti sekolah, recommendation letter, ic, etc).

aku kepilkan certified copies yang dorang mintak/tak mintak ikut kategori yang disusun dalam file soft pink. pastu masukkan dalam file soft pink atau file pink plastic tu. suka hatila letak celah mana pun asalkan teratur dan tak tercicir. oh ye, make sure ada checklist (macam kat laptop tu) biasanya dorang provide, kalau tak buat sendiri le supaya takde tertinggal.

3. Getcha CV/Resume Done

ada certain scholarships and interviews yang nak CV, ada tak perlu tapi kalau ada, lagi bagus la kot since dorang belek je CV dua page kau, terus tau kau budak camne kat sekolah. it gives a good impression la and remember, good impressions matter.

4. Getcha FAQs Known

one can always assume what the interviewers would ask, or since we live in these modern days where knowledge is only at our fingertip, i suggest you GO GOOGLE LA. once you know what are the FAQs, start reading related materials or look it up on the the internet. practice by talking alone or with people, in front of the mirror or when excretion takes too long to complete due to the lack of vegies you consumed yesterday. or if you're too lazy like me to speak out loud and worried that your precious voice box might be worn out, just type it. type whatever that comes to your mind and then edit le to make it sound better.

5. Getta Proper Manner and Attire (GET A, NOT GHETTO K)

from my personal post about Felda's interviewlet me stress out how important it is to think quickly, response calmly, talk confidently and practice your freaking english!

be confident of yourself, respect the interviewers, be moderate and do not dominate the discussion or presentation session with group members, yet be noticeable and memorable, avoid wearing things which you will be mistaken as going to kenduri kahwin or lepak-ing kat KLCC, just be yourself, talk with passion and be honest answering any question.

there you go. bye bye and good luck!

EduCamps, Interviews, and What Not To Do.

Assalamualaikum,

Sekarang musim orang pergi EduCamps, temuduga semua tu, kan?

Okay, things to do when you're going to an interview:

1. Write a resume/CV

Credit : Google.
What should be in your resume? Well, basically, your personal details (Name, Address, Contact number, email address, etc), your academic achievements, your skills and interest, your work experience and references.

For information on how to write a resume/CV, you can refer here : Google Docs - CV. And if you think you need a CV to look at, here's a sample of a CV that you can refer to : Google Docs - CV Sample

2. Get all your examination slips, certificates and everything ready.

Credit : Google.
Make copies of your SPM examination result, co-curriculum certificates and any other certificates that would make you look good. Make copies of your birth certificate, your parents' birth certificates, your IC and your parents' IC. Arrange all of these in a clear-file folder, putting the most recent ones at the top. Put your CV at the front of the folder, with your IC and birth cert, followed by SPM slip and the other certificates.

Do note that this arrangement differs with certain scholarships who would ask you to arrange them in a different way.

3. Read up

Yes, make research. Read magazines, books, articles, newspapers and the internet to know more about the course you're applying for. Know a little bit on what you'd be studying, what career prospects there are, where you want to study and so on.

Also read up the latest news in the county or around the world. Know the issues that are happening around you. Interviewers do not like students who are close-minded and oblivious to the fact that there is a bigger world outside our small rooms. Take interest in the current affairs that are happening.

4. Practice talking in English

As cliche as it may sounds, practice do make perfect. Try talking to your friends in English to prepare yourself for the interview. You don't have to use bombastic words or flowery adjectives. Simple words would do, as long as the interviewers could understand you.

5. Have faith.

Yes, have faith in yourself. Believe in yourself. Don't think that you stand no chance in the interviews because you come from a day school. Don't look down on yourself just because you didn't score straight A+'s. Don't tell yourself that you'd lose the challenge to the other candidates, even if they scored 12A+ and you scored 5A+.

You guys do know that the string of A+ does not guarantee the success for a student. Like my friend once said, "Kalau dapat A+ banyak-banyak pun tapi masa interview macam tunggul kayu pun no use juga." So, yeah. Even without that straight A+ you guys can succeed to the top, insyaAllah.

6. Make an impression

"Thank you for your consideration." - LOL, the BEST part

Ever watched The Hunger Games? Remember the part where she shot that arrow into the apple from the ***'s mouth? Yes. Do what Katniss did. Do something so bizarre so the interviewers would remember you. They've interviewed hundreds of candidates, so you do not want to be just 'the next candidate'.

And no, I'm not asking you to bring a bow and arrows into the interview room and shoot something. What I meant was to be exceptionally active. Be active, be curious. Ask questions, but don't ask stupid questions like "Do you think I'm suitable to get this scholarship?". Instead, ask mature and intelligent questions that relates to your course / career plans.

7. Dress smart and formal

Please, don't wear a casual shirt and jeans to an interview. Don't wear slippers or shorts to meet your possible future scholarship. Do dress smartly and fomally, like the kinds of clothes you'd wear to go to work / office.

For guys : Slack, t-shirt, tie, blazer (not compulsory, but it'd do great, especially if the room is so freaking cold), socks and shoes.

For girls : Well, for girls is easy. If you think wearing blouse with slack is uncomfortable, you can just wear a baju kurung :)

8. Be courteous

Credit : Google

Greet your interviews when you enter the room. Say 'Good Morning' or 'Assalamualaikum' or 'Good Afternoon'. Shake their hands (well, if you can laaa. Muslims take note) Don't sit before they ask you to (don't woryr, they won't let you stand for a long time) Answer their questions politely and honestly. Like, seriously, don't lie. It won't do you any good. Don't cut across their speech, and wait until they have finished talking before you answer.

At the end of the interview, greet them again. Say thank you for their time and consideration, shake their hands, and leave quietly.

GOOD LUCK! :) Do share your experiences with us here on 1994's so people could learn from your experiences. :) I wish you all the best in your future interviews.

You Pick We Write : Emmmm, masscomm?

LOL :D

Ok, tanpa membuang masa lagi, mari kita mulakan pengembaraan ini! Yeayyy!!

Emm bang, saya nak tanya, mass comm tu apa ek?

Ok dik, mass comm tu dari segi bahasa nya mass communication manakala dari segi istilahnya begini,

"Mass communication is the term used to describe the academic study of the various means by which individuals and entities relay information through mass media to large segments of the population at the same time. It is usually understood to relate to newspaper and magazine publishing, radiotelevision and film, as these are used both for disseminating news and for advertising." - Pakcik Wiki.

Faham kan?

Ohhh, ok faham-faham.

Smile :)
  •  Kalau adik ni jenis suka yang cakap banyak, cakap depan orang ramai tak da hal, tak da darah gemuruh, tangan tak terketor-ketor masa pegang mic, ok adik boleh pilih untuk broadcasting. Boleh jadi macam Bernard Chaully. Kalau tak kenal pergi tanya Brader Gugel. Ehehe.

*jarang aku menulis pakai kaler-kaler ni, aha, boleh tahan lawa jugak ye dak?
Ok sambung balik.

Untuk Disadvantages pulak :

  •  Misalkata adik ni penulis untuk sebarang newspaper(kerajaan) makanya adik terpaksalah memanipulate cerita supaya cerita tu menyebelahi kerajaan. Jahat kan? Even cerita tu tak betul dan tipuuuu semata.

Ehehehe. *senyum kambing. Janganlah puji lebih-lebih, segan abang dibuatnya. Ok ini dia job prospect dia, hah tengok, tengok!!! (kelik untuk pautan lebih lanjut) :

Communications specialist
Community relations director
Concert tour manager
Master control operator
Media planner
Media relations specialist
Media buyer
News reporter/anchor
Promotions manager
Political strategist
Radio personality
Speech writer
Studio manager
Talent agent
Technical director
TV director or producer

Amacam?

Waaa, power power. I mean, the IPTA/IPTS?

Aha!

Untuk IPTS : IACT, MMU, KDU, TARC, Sunway College, Taylor's, UTAR dan banyak-banyak lagi :) Sila rajin-rajinkan diri. Lagipun IPTS ni bukan main choice adik-adik ye dak? Takat nak buat back-up tu boleh la, jadi abang tak listkan semua la yek. Hiks.

Ohhh, Thanks bang tanks. Dah banyak sangat dah ni membantu. Urrmm, Kos pengajian?

Kalau macam IPTS, about 8000(RM) woha untuk every sem i guess.

Tapi PTPTN kan ada, nak risau apa kan kan?

Tapi abang nasihatkan better pergi further dekat IPTA la sebab kerajaan tanggung semuanya! Cuma mungkin ada la setence-setence things yang laparkan wang, so adik kena la keluar sikit-sikit. Ehe.

One of the masscomm student. Ahahaa!

Saja suka-suka. (kalau ada tersalah fakta, sila tegur, jangan segan-segan, nanti aku belanja choki-choki)

Kbai :D Assalammualaikum dan salam 1Masscomm!!!

You Pick We Write : Accounting and Finance!

Salam alaik.

Firstly, maaf sebab buatkan ramai menunggu lama kerana bizi sikit lately sebenarnya. Cewah cewah. Accounting and Finance. Surely ramai je yang tahu and bertekad untuk pursue your study dalam bidang ni kan? Basically, tanggapan orang pada course ni a lot. Sangat banyak. Dengar je orang ambik Accounting/Finance, mula lah dalam hati tu.........

"Heleh. Akaun je puuuunnnnnnnnn"

"Otak dia tak biol ke apa tetiap hari mengadap nombor-nombor? Tu dia aih. "

"Hahahaha ni mesti pesen kedekut piang. Kompem!"

"Walaweyhhh, kaya gila dia nanti. Sangat kaya $$$$$$$$$$$$. Nak tawen dengan dia lah! Chop awai-awai ni. Ehem"

"..................................................................... emm k."

And so on. I told you already. Kan? Ni baru segelintir je berfikiran macam ni. Yang lain? Actually tak kira la siapa pun, diri sendiri pasti punya banyak assumptions dalam mind sendiri bila kita tahu someone tu ambil course apa dan apa.

ACCOUNTING and FINANCE

ACCOUNTING

"The process of communicating financial information about a business entity to users such as shareholders and managers. The communication is generally in the form of financial statements that show in money terms the economic resources under the control of management; the art lies in selecting the information that is relevant to the user and is reliable. The principles of accountancy are applied to business entities in three divisions of practical art, named accounting, bookkeeping, and auditing."

FINANCE

- "The management of money or "funds" management."
- "Financial system consists of public and private interests and the markets that serve them. It provides capital from individual and institutional investors who transfer money directly and through intermediaries (e.g. banks, insurance companies, brokerage and fund management firms) to other individuals, firms, and governments that acquire resources and transact business.
- "Economists generally regard financial markets that function for the financial system as an efficient mechanism."

That's what Mr. Wiki gives us. The hightlight ones define the course more and absolutely, it is quite important to those who is still searching what is Accounting and Finance supposed to do. Ehem. So, can you get something from this ataupun maybe got an image yang agak clear than before? :D

COST

Depends on the universities where you are studying actually. Tapi sebenarnya dah makin mudah sekarang tambah ada scholarship. Kalau diperhati, dianalisis, di-review scholarships, mostly scholarship akan offer accountancy and finance sebenarnya. Why? Only they know. Haha! Then, what you are still waiting for?

 ADDITIONAL INFO

Untuk manusia yang memang natural born bijak dan genius yang memang nak ambik Accountancy and Finance, better you choose the Program Kelayakan Professional instead of Program Ijazah. True, sangat hard, sangat tough untuk score in each of the tutorials/exams, but seriously the pathway to grad as a Chartered Accountant lagi mudah. Jalan tak panjang. But you have to sacrifice, you have to give all out to survive on this sebab orang kata ambil Program Kelayakan Professional ni dah ala-ala ambil Actuarial Science course. As we know, Actuarial Science memang student yang bingo, superb dan genius otaknya. Cuti lagi sikit berbanding pelajar yang ambil Program Ijazah tapi of course masa you you further study lagi singkat dari diorang. You maybe grad dalam 2-3 years macam tu and diorang dalam 3-4 years. See? Ahh and kalau you dapat peluang, maybe you'll further your studies in overseas (etc ; UK) Well, I'm not asking/forcing you to choose this. Think about it first. Baik buruk ambil course ni. Mampu ke tidak. Yang paling dan sangat penting among all the questions, minat ke tidak dengan course ni. Peluang cuma datang sekali seumur hidup. *pesan dah macam orang-orang tua hihihihihihi* Anyhow, anything or any choices that you will make after this, I wish you best of luck! Ganbatte!

Moga-moga post ni beneficial to the one who is still searching What is Accounting and Finance actually :) And sebenarnya this is a research from me. Why I called it as a research? Because I'm not taking this course and plus I'm not an account student. Hehe!

Assalamualaikum guys !

Ada tak yang tunggu-tunggu entri untuk Computer Science a.k.a Sains Komputer ? I think I'm the last one writing for this "You pick, we write" segment . Am I right ? Okay, lets get straight to the point.

Computer Science? What is that?

Actually , aku pun tak tahu sangat benda ni. Sebab tu la wujud perkataan "Research" . Hoho . Maybe ?

#Mungkin ayat agak tunggal-langgang dan agak membosankan. Sorry for that.
